£116,062 Raised at Our Midsummer Night’s Dream Ball
We are thrilled to share that £116,062 (with more donations rolling in!) was raised at our spectacular Midsummer Night’s Dream Ball on Saturday, 7th March 2026, at the beautiful Kimpton Clocktower Hotel.
It was truly an unforgettable evening filled with glamour, generosity and incredible entertainment, all in support of our mission to fund vital breast cancer diagnostic equipment.
A Magical Setting
Guests stepped into a dreamlike woodland inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with the ballroom transformed into an enchanting forest setting. The immersive atmosphere was elevated by the incredible production from Aventive Group, whose dramatic lighting and stunning screen displays brought the theme to life and created a breathtaking visual experience throughout the evening.
The night was expertly compered by Hugh Ferris, whose warmth, humour and energy helped guide guests through the evening’s programme of speeches, auctions and performances.
Supporting an Important Cause
We were incredibly proud to share messages from the hospitals that will benefit from the funds raised. Teams from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the Macclesfield NHS Breast Unit spoke about how the equipment funded through our work helps improve early detection and patient care.
We were also deeply touched by a message from our Founder Patron, Dame Sarah Storey, who spoke passionately about the importance of the charity’s work and the impact these funds will have for patients and families.
Outstanding Entertainment
Entertainment throughout the evening was delivered by Carmina Entertainment, whose spectacular performances blended dance, singing and breathtaking acrobatics. Their theatrical sets and extravagant costumes perfectly captured the enchanted theme and kept the audience captivated all night.
A particularly moving moment came from actress, singer and vocal coach Liz Long, who delivered a powerful monologue followed by a beautiful singing performance. Having recently experienced her own cervical cancer journey, Liz’s performance resonated deeply with many guests in the room.
Later in the evening, Kevin Simm, lead singer of Wet Wet Wet and winner of The Voice UK 2016, took to the stage and quickly filled the dance floor with a high-energy performance that had the whole room singing along.
A Stunning Dining Experience
Guests enjoyed an exceptional three-course dinner created by Executive Chef Paul Beckley and his team at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel. Beautifully presented dishes were paired with wines carefully selected by Milestone Wines, helping to create a truly memorable dining experience.
A Special Artistic Contribution
We were also honoured to include a very special artistic moment in the evening. Ben Mosley generously donated an original gold-leaf painting to be auctioned on the night. Although Ben was unable to attend due to family commitments, guests watched a speed-painting video showing the artwork being created, adding an exciting and unique moment to the live auction.
Incredible Generosity
Our raffle also proved hugely popular thanks to the generosity of our supporters. Scan Computers donated a MacBook Air, while Slack & Andrews provided a stunning diamond pendant valued at £6,000. Together, the raffle alone raised an incredible £8,000.
£116,062 Raised for Vital Equipment
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our guests, sponsors and supporters, the evening raised a remarkable £116,062 through donations, auctions and fundraising activities.
These funds will go directly towards vital breast screening equipment, including £100,000 worth of equipment for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and £150,000 for New Alderley House at the Macclesfield NHS Breast Unit, helping clinicians diagnose breast cancer earlier and improve patient care.
“The Midsummer Night’s Dream Ball was truly magical. I was completely blown away by the generosity in the room and by the incredible support from our guests, sponsors and volunteers. Every pound raised will help us continue our vital work supporting breast screening services. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who made the evening so special.”
Our founder, Debbie Dowie
