The early mornings and the late nights won’t stop the Boot Out Breast Cancer committee working tirelessly to raise funds to purchase a tomography machine as requested by the breast screening unit at Warrington and Halton NHS Hospital Trust.

Boot Out Breast Cancer was set up in 2010 by Debbie Dowie who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Many women and men receive diagnosis each year and the team at Boot Out Breast Cancer want to make a difference. Since their first event in November 2010 they have raised over £750,000 and have spent it entirely on purchasing equipment for NHS hospitals.

The Boot Out Breast Cancer charity have provided equipment for The Royal Bolton NHS hospital, The Nightingale Centre NHS hospital in South Manchester, Thomas Linacre Breast Centre at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS hospital, Leighton NHS hospital in Crewe, Chorley NHS hospital, The Broadgreen NHS hospital in Liverpool, and the Paterson Institute next to The Christie.

The equipment purchased is saving theatre time and anaesthetic and Boot Out Breast Cancer believe that giving an early diagnosis is the key to saving lives.

Debbie Dowie, Chairman & Founder said,

“I am thrilled to be running the Boot Out Breast Cancer charity alongside my dedicated and talented committee members. This Gatsby themed fundraising event is one of the toughest, yet most exhilarating challenges of our lives. Knowing the money raised will be used to purchase a tomography machine for the Warrington and Halton NHS Hospital Trust, where its use will help potentially thousands of women and men, is the best part of all.”

Boot Out Breast Cancer’s patrons Dame Sarah Storey, Professor Andrew Baildam, and the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham will be joining them for the special fundraising event being held at The Principal Hotel in Manchester on Saturday the 15th September 2018.

To help them achieve their goal please visit to bid on the silent auctions or to make a pledge no matter how small. Every contribution helps to bring them one step closer to hitting their target. The online web auction will close at midday on the 14th September but pledges and donations can still be made.

Every year Boot Out Breast Cancer helps thousands of women and men turn their lives around by purchasing much needed cancer diagnosis equipment for NHS hospitals throughout the North West. Visit to find out how you can get involved and show you believe in saving lives.
