At Boot Out Breast Cancer, every fundraiser entered, every raffle ticket bought, every event attended and every donation made has one shared purpose, improving breast cancer care for patients across Bolton.
Thanks to the unwavering generosity of our supporters, we are incredibly proud to have donated £223,021 to Bolton NHS, funding vital equipment that is making a real difference to both patients and healthcare professionals.
A Journey of Support
Our commitment to supporting breast cancer services began in 2013, when we made one of our most significant donations to date.
That year, we funded:
- Faxitron Machine – £60,000
- Sentinel Node Biopsy Gamma Device – £12,000
Total donated in 2013: £72,000
These pieces of equipment helped enhance breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, giving clinicians access to technology that supports better patient outcomes.
Continuing Our Mission
Following the challenges faced during the pandemic, we were delighted to resume major donations in 2022, supporting departments with both specialist medical equipment and practical items that improve patient comfort.
2022 – £19,853 Donated
Our donations included:
- Hologic Images
- Mammography Scanner
- Two Mammography Chairs
- Post-operative Bras
- Breast Self-Examination Model
- Merchandise and Awareness Materials
- Additional Post-operative Bras
These contributions helped improve patient education, comfort and diagnostic services throughout the breast unit.
2023 – £4,915 Donated
In 2023 we supplied:
- Head Torches for surgical teams
Although smaller in value, this equipment plays an important role during procedures by improving visibility for surgeons and clinical staff.
Our Largest Donation Yet
In 2024, thanks to the phenomenal support from our community, sponsors and fundraising events, we were able to donate an incredible £105,251.
This funded:
- Siemens Acuson Sequoia Ultrasound Scanner
- Panoramic Diagnostic Computer & Display
- Knight Imaging Mammography Chairs
- Aura Trolley
This investment has strengthened diagnostic capabilities within Bolton NHS, ensuring patients have access to modern equipment that supports quicker and more accurate assessments.
