Boot Out Breast Cancer Visits Leeds Breast Unit
Boot Out Breast Cancer recently had the pleasure of visiting the Leeds Breast Unit at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Founder Debbie Dowie met with members of the dedicated team, including Sean Willis, Michelle Clark, and Lucy Bryon-Guest, to learn more about the outstanding work taking place every day.
The Leeds Breast Unit runs a one-stop Breast Assessment Service, allowing patients to receive their full assessment, including examination and imaging, all in a single visit. This efficient and compassionate model of care ensures that patients are supported throughout their diagnostic journey with speed and sensitivity.
Following the visit, Boot Out Breast Cancer is proud to announce that the Leeds Breast Unit has been chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the 2026 Boot Out Breast Cancer Ball, themed A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Funds raised from the event will help to purchase vital diagnostic equipment for the Leeds team, supporting their continued efforts to provide the highest standard of care.
Since its launch, Boot Out Breast Cancer has raised more than £1.75 million to fund life-saving equipment for NHS breast units across England and Wales. From ultrasound scanners to digital imaging systems, these donations have transformed breast cancer services and made a lasting difference for countless patients.
As we continue our mission, we are excited to share several upcoming events that help us raise awareness and vital funds.
