Chorley Mayor Debra Platt Chooses Boot Out Breast Cancer as Supported Charity
Boot Out Breast Cancer is delighted to share that the newly appointed Mayor of Chorley, Councillor Debra Platt, has chosen BOBC as one of the charities she will support during her year in office. 💗
Councillor Platt was officially sworn in as Mayor of Chorley on 19th May 2026 and will spend the coming year supporting causes close to her heart, including Boot Out Breast Cancer, alongside charities supporting guide dogs and deaf children.
We are incredibly honoured to have been selected and look forward to working alongside the Mayor throughout her term to continue raising awareness of the importance of early breast cancer diagnosis and improved patient care.
Councillor Platt brings with her decades of experience in local government and community service. First elected to Chorley Council in 2008, she has dedicated many years to serving local communities across Lancashire through a variety of council and charitable roles.
Speaking following her appointment, Councillor Platt shared how proud she is to represent the borough and support organisations making a real difference to people’s lives across the community.
At Boot Out Breast Cancer, we are deeply grateful for this support. Partnerships and community champions like Councillor Platt play a vital role in helping us continue funding life-saving breast cancer diagnostic equipment across England and Wales.
