Creative Fundraising Ideas: From Bake Sales to Marathons

Fundraising doesn’t have to be complicated, sometimes the simplest ideas make the biggest impact. At Boot Out Breast Cancer, we’ve seen incredible creativity from our supporters, and we want to inspire you to get involved in ways that are fun, meaningful, and uniquely you.

1. Bake Sales & Afternoon Teas

A classic for a reason! Bake sales and themed afternoon teas are a fantastic way to bring people together and raise funds. Whether it’s cupcakes, scones, or a full high tea, these events can be held at home, in the office, or at community venues. Sally McGladdery’s recent Ladies Afternoon Tea raised £1,000 for Boot Out Breast Cancer, proof that a well-planned event can make a real difference.

2. Sponsored Challenges & Marathons

Physical challenges push you out of your comfort zone while raising funds for a great cause. Running a marathon, completing a 10k, or even walking a few miles can turn your fitness goals into a fundraising mission. Each step becomes a way to support breast cancer diagnostic equipment for NHS breast units.

3. Unique Themed Events

Think outside the box! Themed balls, quiz nights, or even “dress up for charity” office days can create memorable experiences while raising money. For example, our Midsummer Night’s Dream Ball 2026 promises a magical night of entertainment and fine dining, all in support of vital NHS equipment.

4. Community Stands & Festivals

Partnering with local events is another brilliant way to engage the community. Boot Out Breast Cancer was once again part of Nestival 2025, with 50% of sales from the special charity cocktail, the Enzoni, going directly to fund breast cancer diagnostic equipment. Festivals and markets allow supporters to enjoy a fun day out while making a real impact.

5. Everyday Challenges & Personal Initiatives

Fundraising doesn’t have to be a big event. Simple ideas like a sponsored silence, a “no coffee for a week” challenge, or a bake-off among friends can all add up. Every small contribution brings us closer to providing life-saving equipment to NHS breast units.

Your Creativity Makes the Difference

No idea is too big or too small. Fundraising is about passion, creativity, and community spirit. Every penny raised by these events goes directly to supporting breast cancer diagnostics in the NHS, helping save lives.

We’d love to hear your ideas and see your fundraising in action! Whether it’s a marathon, bake sale, or festival stand, your efforts make a real difference.
