Dame Sarah Storey Visits Macclesfield Hospital to Support Boot Out Breast Cancer Ball 2026
Dame Sarah Storey, Britain’s most decorated Paralympian and a proud patron of our charity, paid a visit to Macclesfield District General Hospital’s Breast Screening Unit on World Cancer Day.
During her visit, Dame Sarah filmed a promotional video to help raise awareness of the upcoming Boot Out Breast Cancer Ball, which will take place on Saturday 7th March 2026 at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester. Funds raised from the evening will go towards providing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment for the breast screening unit there. Equipment that sits above and beyond standard NHS funding and helps clinicians diagnose breast cancer earlier and more accurately.
Speaking during her visit, Dame Sarah highlighted the importance of early detection, saying:
The upcoming Midsummer Night’s Dream-themed Ball promises to be a special evening of fundraising, entertainment, and community spirit, all in support of this vital cause. As preparations continue, BOBC charity is also appealing for auction and raffle prizes, with donations from businesses and supporters playing a key role in helping to maximise the funds raised on the night.
If you or your organisation would like to donate an auction prize or support the event, we would love to hear from you.
Together, we can continue to make a real and lasting difference through early detection and improved breast cancer diagnosis.
