The brain cells of the members of Horwich Lodge No 2324 were well and truly tested at their Jubilee Quiz Night.
The proceeds of the night were donated to Boot out Breast Cancer which is a new charity set up by Debbie Dowie following her own experience of being diagnosed with breast cancer and having a mastectomy and re-constructive surgery.Debbie recognised the real need for the latest state of the art diagnostic equipment in the NHS so that treatment can be delivered as quickly as possible to maximise the chances of survival.
With the help of Patrons Alan Shearer OBE and Sarah Storey OBE Debbie and her team of 10 volunteers are committed to fundraising and making sure every penny raised is spent on the much needed equipment in the NHS.Alan Birtwistle of Horwich Lodge said that they were proud to be associated with such a worthy cause.
Alan said that the night would not have been possible with out the efforts of Alan Hurst.
