MOTHERS DAY LUNCH FUNDRAISER FOR BOOT OUT BREAST CANCER

The Boot Out Breast Cancer committee has been working tirelessly to raise funds for The Christie Hospital with the latest fundraiser being the Mother’s Day Lunch held at Rivington Hall Barn, Bolton, on the 7th March 2019.

Boot Out Breast Cancer was set up in 2010 by Debbie Dowie who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Many women and men receive diagnosis each year and the team at Boot Out Breast Cancer want to make a difference. Since their first event in November 2010 they have raised over £875,000 and have spent it entirely on purchasing equipment for NHS hospitals.

The Mother’s Day Lunch began with a Champagne reception and a warm welcome from their compère Ronnie Orr, followed by a fun game of pass the parcel and a powerful message from two very inspirational ladies from The Christie Hospital; Marie Toller and Olivia Samuel.

Over 180 people attended on the day and an incredible £6,000 was raised through donations, tombola sales, car raffle tickets, and event ticket sales. They had an impromptu visit from James “Arj” Arjent, known for his role in ‘The Only Way is Essex’ TV show, coupled with fabulous entertainment from Boy Gorgeous, and a Dolly Parton tribute act, by Kennedy Caitlin.

Debbie Dowie, Chairman & Founder said, “I am thrilled to be running the Boot Out Breast Cancer charity alongside my dedicated and talented committee members. This Mother’s Day Lunch fundraising event was very enjoyable and at the same time, raised awareness that supporting causes like The Christie Hospital is still vitally important. It was hugely successful, and I want to thank everyone for their continued support and very generous donations.”

Boot Out Breast Cancer have been gifted a Brand-New Fiat 500s car to the value of £13,710 which has been locked into a charity raffle event. There are only 2,000 tickets available and are priced at £10 each – make sure you get yours! One lucky winner will be drawn at random on the 19th May 2019.

To help them achieve their goal please visit bootoutevents.co.uk to buy a raffle ticket today. Every contribution helps to bring them one step closer to hitting their target. Car Raffle ticket sales will close at midday on the 18th May 2019, but pledges and donations can still be made. The equipment purchased is saving theatre time and anaesthetic and Boot Out Breast Cancer believe that giving an early diagnosis is the key to saving lives.

Every year Boot Out Breast Cancer helps thousands of women and men turn their lives around by purchasing much needed cancer diagnosis equipment for NHS hospitals throughout the North West. Visit bootoutbreastcancer.org.uk to find out how you can get involved and show you believe in saving lives.
