Motown Magic Ladies’ Lunch

Our Most Joyful Ladies’ Lunch Yet Raises Over £11,000 for the Bolton Breast Unit!

Boot Out Breast Cancer’s annual Ladies’ Lunch returned with a soulful twist this year, bringing the magic of Motown to the heart of Bolton, and what an unforgettable afternoon it was! Held on Thursday 3rd April 2025 at the stunning Rivington Hall Barn, the event welcomed over 240 guests for a day of laughter, music, and fundraising, all in support of life-saving breast cancer equipment for the NHS.

With an atmosphere full of energy, the event was a roaring success raising over £11,000, with all proceeds going directly to the Bolton Breast Unit to fund essential diagnostic equipment.

Emelina James Steals the Show

The absolute highlight of the event was the sensational Emelina James, whose incredible Motown set brought the house down. From the moment she stepped onto the stage, Emelina had the whole room on their feet dancing, clapping, and singing along to the soulful sounds of Motown classics. Emelina’s set made this Ladies’ Lunch one to remember.

Inspiring Words from Dr. Ricardo Pardo-Garcia

We were honoured to welcome Dr. Ricardo Pardo-Garcia, Consultant Breast Radiologist at the Royal Bolton Hospital, who delivered a moving speech during the event. Dr. Pardo-Garcia shared insights into the impact of early diagnosis, the crucial role that new diagnostic equipment plays in saving lives, and how the support of charities like Boot Out Breast Cancer directly improves patient outcomes. His heartfelt words reminded us all why we do what we do, and how much more we can achieve together.

Entertainment & Afternoon Highlights

Guests enjoyed a sparkling drinks reception followed by a delicious three-course lunch, the décor to the service this year helped make this one of our most special events to date.

I am truly overwhelmed by the incredible generosity, energy, and support shown at our Ladies’ Lunch this year. From the amazing Emelina and our inspiring speakers to the businesses and individuals who donated prizes, every single person played a vital role in making this event such a success. Together, we’ve raised an astonishing £11,000, which will go directly towards providing life-saving equipment for the Bolton NHS Breast Unit. On behalf of Boot Out Breast Cancer, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us, supported us, and shared in our mission to make a real difference.
