Parisian Glamour Ball 2024

£76,000 Raised for Breast Cancer Equipment

Manchester, UK – September 7, 2024

Boot Out Breast Cancer’s Parisian Glamour Ball 2024 was a night to remember! On September 7th, over 400 guests gathered at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester for an evening of Parisian elegance, world-class entertainment, and generous giving—all in support of raising vital funds for breast cancer diagnostic equipment for NHS hospitals. We’re thrilled to announce that, thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised an outstanding £76,000!

A Night of Parisian Glamour

Guests were greeted with a red-carpet entrance featuring Parisian-themed stilt walkers, and a champagne reception kicked off the night’s celebrations. As everyone entered the grand ballroom, they were transported to Paris with stunning décor—a towering windmill, a 20-foot Eiffel Tower, and an ambient glow that captured the romance and elegance of the City of Light.

Welcome and Heartfelt Messages

Our wonderful compère, Hugh Ferris, welcomed everyone, followed by a heartfelt speech from BOBC’s founder and chair, Debbie Dowie. Debbie thanked all our guests for their incredible support, reminding us of the crucial impact events like this have in the fight against breast cancer.

A touching video message from Dr. Amruta Talwalkar, Director of Breast Screening, highlighted the difference these funds will make in hospitals like hers. We also received heartfelt apology videos from Alan Shearer and Dame Sarah Storey, who, although unable to attend, sent their best wishes for the event’s success.

Showstopping Entertainment

The evening’s entertainment was absolutely spectacular. Carmina Entertainment wowed the audience with dazzling Parisian-inspired performances, including a vibrant rendition of “Lady Marmalade,” high-energy Can-Can dances, and mesmerizing acrobatic routines. Their second performance of the night took things to another level, with a dramatic strip tease, aerial hoop acts, and a thrilling roller-skating stunt that left everyone on the edge of their seats.

Musical Performances

Adding to the evening’s glamour, we were treated to not one, but two incredible musical performances. First, Alexander Stewart took to the stage, bringing his smooth vocals and timeless charm to the ballroom. His performance had everyone swaying along to his well-known songs, setting the perfect mood for the evening.

Later, Laura White, a former X Factor finalist and acclaimed singer-songwriter, stole the show with her powerful vocals and soulful energy. Her performance had the entire room dancing and singing along, creating a truly unforgettable atmosphere. Together, Alexander and Laura added a touch of star power and musical magic to the night.

Fundraising Highlights

Our fundraising efforts were in full swing with a raffle and live auction featuring some incredible prizes. The raffle included standout items such as an iPad Air donated by Scan Computers and a stunning ruby and diamond necklace worth £5,600 from Slack & Andrews. It was a hit with our guests, helping raise significant funds for the cause.

The live auction, led by Iain Dowie, brought excitement to a new level, with guests bidding on once-in-a-lifetime experiences and exclusive items. Prizes included:

  • A 2-ball golfing experience with Alan Shearer
  • Meet-and-greet tickets for Sky’s League of Their Own
  • A commissioned painting from Ben Mosley, the official artist for Team GB and Wembley Stadium

The competitive bidding and generous contributions made for a thrilling night, with all proceeds supporting our mission.

An Amazing Result: £76,000 Raised!

By the end of the evening, we were thrilled to announce that £76,000 had been raised to help fund essential breast cancer diagnostic equipment for NHS hospitals. This incredible result wouldn’t have been possible without the kindness and generosity of everyone involved—from our guests and donors to sponsors and volunteers.
